The condition of the Pokmon cards was listed by Gouldin Auctions as Gem Mint 10 which to the uninitiated refers to the cards featuring four perfectly sharp corners, sharp focus and full original gloss, no grubby stains with some allowance made for printing errors, if they dont impair the overall appeal of the card. What also helped the collection fetch for such a wild prize was the inclusion of shiny Alakazam, Blastoise and Chansey cards but above all else, it included the Holy Grail of classic Pokmon cards a first-edition, shiny Charizard
I dont have any experience grading English cards but I noticed on all except for the gengar the corners have damages which I personally feel take away from the words gem mint, it is supposed to mean flawless, I would love to see stricter gradings on cards personally
It's only a matter of time before a Pokemon card hits the $1 million mark
Pokmon cards have also gained recognition as a serious investment, attracting institutional investors and high-net-worth collectors
