each of which is decorated with a brass barrelThere is an oval plaque above the browband

There is a brass loop at one end and a hole for hanging at the otherAlong the length of the strap there are brass studs in the shape of hearts

There is also a rectangular flask with a captured or bayonet cap which is also stamped with a trumpet and banner symbol and  "JD & S"

The other arm is also hallmarked

The collar has a blank oval cartouche which could be engraved, there are no maker's stamps or hallmarks There are some dents and dings on the cap and collar. Between the cap and collar, the grip is covered in cream coloured braided baleen. The long flexible whalebone stock or shaft is covered in braided thread. There is an area of wear near the end of the whip The whip
